SCULPTURES

The sculptures in this collection are all based on the vessel shape and are constructed using wire, rusted metal, and found objects. They may also incorporate other materials, such as hardware cloth, handmade paper, fiber, and ceramic elements. Acrylic glazes and chemical patinas are often used on the metal and ceramic surfaces to achieve a sense of age and decay. The intent is to achieve the look of something long buried that shows that natural forces have shaped the piece as much as the human hand: an ossuary found among Roman ruins or a reliquary salvaged from a medieval shipwreck, objects that suggest ancient rituals and mysterious purposes.
